Burnout
June 25, 2006

As some of you know, I left the business last year in a total state of burnout; something that had really lingered for several years. I feel like I've beaten it. After leaving the business entirely for a couple of months, I gained perspective. I realized that I didn't want to stop being a performer/composer/recording artist, but I did want to stop doing it all by myself. Signing with Loud Dust Recordings was the first step, but I've enlisted help on the booking, PR, and recording fronts too, and feel energized by the help I'm getting.

I'm intersted in hearing how other folks have dealt with burnout. Anyone out there brave enough to share a few tips?

COMMENTS IN THIS CONVERSATION:

Hmmm, burnout. Scourge of the '60's. That decade or the age. I play guitar to deal with my prof. burnout. I do not recommend lawyering as a means of dealing with musician business burnout. Maybe you could give lessons? Guitar or burnout. Paul Rishell does and he is certainly no burnout. Of course there is Annie!
